NEW SOFTWARE FOR TUTORS:  TUITION MANAGER

As a teacher who does a good deal of private tuition, one of the things that can  be quite tricky, is keeping track of my workload, invoicing clients and keeping tabs on who has paid their bills (and not!).  I also need to be able to keep notes on the students I teach so that I know what I have done and what still needs to be covered.

With these things in mind I have developed a web based database application which does these jobs for me.  For example: It used to take ages to create invoices to send out to clients.  With the TUITION MANAGER I can choose a client (parent), and very quickly create an invoice from all of the lessons that the student has booked, as a pdf which can be printed or emailed to the client.  It will also take care of cancelations and refunds.

Tuition in Mathematics can be a useful supplement to work in school.  Many students are intimidated when it comes to asking questions in a large group such as a full class, and these students can go through their school lives with questions that never get answered.


This in turn can lead to lack of understanding and ultimately to the protestation that I hear all too often: "I can't do maths!" or "I hate maths!" which often amounts to the same thing in the end.


Tuition can help, particularly with students who lack confidence, to increase that confidence and allow them to ask the questions which will lead to full understanding.


It is important, when considering whether to employ a tutor, to ascertain whether the student wants to learn. If this is not the case no amount of extra tuition is going to make the difference.  There is no substitute for determination, as with any endeavour.


At Sharpe Maths Tuition, the aim is to give students at all levels, the confidence they require to advance their understanding of the subject either on a one-to-one basis or in a small group setting (up to 4 students).
